About Dakota Flyers
Model Aviation
The Dakota Flyers is a club dedicated to radio control model aviation, keeping the hobby thriving and having fun while doing so. Our field is quite large and can handle most model airplanes and helicopters. We are an AMA sanctioned club and flyers must be AMA licensed. We welcome visitors,spectators and new members. You will find many flyers at the field on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We would like to thank all the club members who have kept the club strong over the years.

The Dakota Flyers field is at 47250 271st St. Sioux Falls. This is 2 miles east of the North Tea exit. There is a small barn on the north side of the street.
Dakota Flyers is governed by lifetime appointed board of governors. We do not hold elections and do not have regular board meetings. All dues paid to the club are used to solely to maintain the facility and lease the property.
You can pay yearly dues by either using the payment box at the field or mailing payment to:

Club Dues.
$30 a year for adults including board members.
$15 for first time members after Aug. 1
Free for Junior members under the age of 18.
$60 for a family membership -all family members must live at the same address.
Free for any activated military member.
Must have an AMA License to fly. Please include AMA # when paying dues. Any member who's AMA license has been suspended or revoked must notify a Dakota Flyer's board member.
Spectators Welcome - Visiting AMA licensed pilots welcome to fly.
The status for our FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA) application 2023-CBO-01792-FRIA - Dakota Flyers #3196 - 271st St has been approved.
